The Baby Room Programme

The Little Gems baby room for babies from 3 months old

In the Little Gems baby room we have created a cosy homely atmosphere where babies are cared for as if they are at home. They are given interactive and stimulating activities which use developmentally appropriate toys and play equipment. The Early Years Foundation Stage, which covers all areas of development and learning from birth to five, is implemented as a foundation for planning the curriculum. The baby room is designed as a self contained area with separate sleep room, changing room, milk kitchen and outdoor play area. The adult / child ratio is 1:3. Babies have a high level of interaction during which the following activities are introduced :-

• Storytelling
• Treasure baskets
• Singing, Music and Movement
• Messy play
• Motor skills

plus many other activities that help a baby's overall development.
